Still hanging in there with MX-15 MC?
Just wondering if you were using the XFCE or KDE version?
Silly question, but hey, even a die-hard KDE fan can change his/her mind right?

I have the same version on two machines one using KDE and my everyday desktop Xfce. You can make a good enough argument for either, just depends on personal preference really.

Hi Mc .
, Yes indeed I like Mx-15 from what I have seen . I checked out the xfce version and it preformed well , the only downer for me is that as a dis- liker of greys .browns and black themes they donít seem to offer an appropriate alternative ? Apart from that it was quick and had other features I liked .

You can tweak the theme settings easily enough by copying downloaded theme files into either .themes or .icons in the hidden part of your Home directory. Some will work and some won't but you can certainly change the menu color, panel and window borders using this method. I like black for my menu so I use the "Slickness" theme which works fine. For window borders I prefer "Traction" but there are plenty of other options including Vista Basic and Vista Royale for a different look. It's also possible to run Compiz/Emerald although depending on your graphics hardware you could have stability issues and/or even break your system so unless you can cope with this by way of an experiment, best avoided.

I put another screenshot here showing the menu with "Slickness" theme. Also using Solus wallpaper which IMO is the only thing any good about that system at the moment.

Looks good MC . I set it up as a dualboot with Chaletos and it messed up Chaletos ....... something went wrong but that is life . Yes I like Mx-15 it has a lot going for it but I can`t get virtual box to work, synaptic shows it as being already installed but I cant find it .... perhaps my system has become haunted lol

You can normally resurrect such events by using a Linux rescue disk such as Rescatux and either reinstalling grub with that or using the boot repair feature.

http://www.supergrubdisk.org/rescatux/

If Virtualbox is not running, maybe not all of the components got installed. Check first to see if you have virtualbox-qt installed. If that doesn't crack it, try this.

Hiren rescue disk... yup!

Btw, has anyone taken MX-16 beta1 out for a spin yet?
Was wondering if i install it if it'll jump to stable whenever that version comes out.

www.mxlinux.org is a nicer url to use and especially to remember.
