Linux Mint 17.3 Rosa
Linux Mint 17.3 Rosa has been released. It is a long term support release which will be supported till 2019.

The Linux Mint team is having some server problems, and their site was probably down yesterday, and even suffered some data loss, not huge though.

The download page is currently not working.

Oh, that's great. Thanks.

Whole site was down for a couple of days, main site, message board (forum), blog pages. They got it up and running again yesterday, albeit it with some data lost, see

Forums are down again at present and some of the website pages are empty.

Cinnamon downloads look to be available via

Edit: I grabbed a copy of Cinnamon overnight, looks to have completed OK, will try it later.

Looks like they're getting it back up, including download page. Forum main page is up but not linking to posts.

If you're upgrading:

* To upgrade from the BETA, simply launch the Update Manager and install any Level 1 update available.
* To upgrade from Linux Mint 17, 17.1 or 17.2, please wait for a few days while we release a new version of the Update Manager to you. In the meantime, you do not need to download or to reinstall anything. We’ll make announcements next week when this is ready.

Thanks for the heads-up guys. I just downloaded the ISO via torrent. I have never done an upgrade before so I have a noob question: Should I upgrade using the "Fresh upgrade" as explained in sections C1 and D of this tutorial?

MaikL 05. Dec 2015 03:07 PM

Depends what version you're upgrading from. If it's 17/17.1/17.2/17.3 BETA and they're working OK for you I'd follow the instructions from LM (see above) - it's really easy and quick to upgrade this way. I want to do a fresh install, hence I downloaded the latest version and I'll be going the C1 & D route. JMO, I'd see what others here say.

Thanks MaikL. Actually, I didn't see post #7 before I posted. I'm on 17.2 LTS but I always prefer a clean install so I think I'll be following the C1/D method.
