Alpine Linux - ever hear about it?

Alpine Linux distro is barely 300Mgs!

Stumbled on it on a Slimjet browser forum thread.
Have been driving Slimjet for a few days and it is a decent browser.
Wonder how it behaves on this Alpine?

From memory, this distro is designed primarily for use as a router, firewall and application gateway. Unless this has changed substantially since I last looked at it, I would not recommend it as a standard working environment.

It would really help if you post a link whenever suggesting or discussing a new software/product. The Alpine Linux site is here:

http://alpinelinux.org/

On its About page here:

http://alpinelinux.org/about/

It says that it's a general purpose Linux distro designed for power users who appreciate security.

So, although it's a general purpose distro, it is aimed more at advanced users, and I think security is the key point for this Linux distro. It's not detailed in what way though.

Only way is to try and find out.

Me bad, sorry. Thought about adding that link then, one thing and another...

By default Alpine includes grsecurity/pax in their kernel. Its very rare to see that. You can run Chromium also on Alpine.
