Default NetRunner 13.06 64 Bit

My opinion of this of this Distro as to how it stacks up to other KDE Operating Systems is Mundane at best. (I've been trying quite a few as of late) Great default Wallpaper but then things started going down hill. The updates failed twice, My Nvidia video card although recognized the Nvidia settings app would not start. I tried the recommended driver to no avail (actually I tried 3 from 310 to 304). This is a major issue for me so the Distro Fails (for me anyway). In the end the distro is ok and may catch the fancy of those without Nvidia graphic cards But for me I cant get home if First base is missing.

I too had issues with Nvidia. What erks me though is when folks give distros high marks even though their major components do not work. I had the previous release of Netrunner installed for some time on my older machine and after a short period encountered an issue with the cloud storage in that it was no longer possible to log in to it. Others have had similar issues with no resolution as indicated here.

Considering the tiny userbase of this distro, these reports cannot be random coincidences. Their cloud storage is billed as a major feature so IMO because it is obviously inconsistent at best, this distro should be quickly relegated to the also-rans list until it gets fixed.

Just as importantly, there is little point in having a support forum if the developer does not follow major incident reports through to a conclusion.

You know I'm pretty forgiving when it comes to new releases. In my opinion if a distro has problems post the dang thing in "The known Issues" section. I felt like Netrunner was stuck together with cheap glue and then released. I'm sorry I don't mean to be harsh on someones hard work but if your putting it out there as a Top Distro it should it should live up to the label.

I've been on a KDE kick and IMO KDE maybe the breakout desktop that not only competes with Gnome and Unity but steps over it. I'm downloading Solydk64 and will put it on a USB drive for install tomorrow. That should round out my KDE experience and to be honest I'll go to Mint KDE in a heartbeat if Mint Mate starts going loopy.
