Default Winki3 - Useful or not?

As a newbie, has anyone come across 'Winki3', a Linux based OS that includes the internet surfing, email, instant messaging, pictures browsing etc etc.

It sounds interesting but have never heard of it or its predessors 1 & 2 but has anyone else and is it any good?

Know nothing about this other than what I managed to find with a Google search.

"Okay, full process is this. You go to the motherboards' manufacturer page and download the specific linux distro needed. You then install it via your OS or Bios, (it varies) then you enable the feature in the Bios. After that, you press the button named after the feature during POST, and you enter the Linux distro. From there you can use the internet and not much else".

Considering it's restricted nature I can't see being much use to anyone.
