Ireland must be a good base for distros because in addition to Mint, I didn't realize that gNewSense is based there too.

They have recently undergone something of an internal upgrade and have just released a beta 3 based on Debian Wheezy with - yes! - Gnome2!

Could be worth a spin for those users still a-hankerin' after the old days when things Gnome were functional and worked.
