It is helpful to other users if you can state exactly what the problems were you experienced with Mint. Some of these might be system specific (hardware related) so potential users may be able to confirm/deny these on their own system via a live session.

Exactly MidniteCowboy; Some of these problems might be system specific hardware,

that's why i say, of all the distros i tried for my Lenovo old PC, the one that works better is UBUNTU12.04LTS,and i tried many,Ubuntu 12.04LTS is the one that works the best ,either with UNTY OR GNOME desktop.

Also for my other Sony Vaio Pentium M Xubuntu 12.04LTS also is the best for it ,i also tried other.

Today i Added Xubuntu Desktop to Ubuntu 12.04 lts and it works great so far,so i have one more choice all i have to do is log out and i can choose,
but xubuntu desktop is very good too and i'm use to it in my other Computer,
