Are you using unetbootin for Linux? there is a version for Linux and windows. You should also be able install Unetbootin using the software manager. You may also want to compare the ISO checksum to ensure its correct. I've been using Unetbooten for years and its always worked fine for me.

As wdhpr says, it needs installing correctly to pull in all the dependencies. More information here.

Thanks guys, before i red this post i figured it out from reading the tips on this forum and i was able to make the usb boot loader of Ubuntu 12.04 with usb creator and did install successfully for the first impression this distro of ubuntu is rety good i was running linux mint 14 mate, one thing that i notice diferent for better,is on linux mint 14 mate when started the pc with monitor off it would stay black i had to turn off and on then first turn on the monitor prior to pc otherwise it would stay black hanging saying resolution not supported,
on Ubuntu i turn on pc then turn on monitor and it all good.
At first glance i am pleased with what i see so far, hope i'm not wrong, but if i am i always can go back to mint mate ,thanks
