Good news. Ty Legion. I will take a look and test its performance.

Presumably this is just to prevent Linux users from passing on Windows viruses to other Windows users as there is no requirement for a native Linux antivirus.

Please be aware also that this does not support the latest versions of all Linux distros, including Ubuntu, Mint and Fedora.

Good stuff I now have something to recheck bit defender scans. I will at times download a Windows app and this just helps me feel better. I also used it to scan critical files in my linux system. Good backup to safe browsing practices.

I would be far more interested in their HIPS (Behaviour Blocker)/Firewall/Sandbox being ported over, because those are undoubtedly more useful.

Recently got my new computer and installed Linux Mint 14 (64 bit) on it. I decided to install Comodo AV 64 bit version on it and I'm very happy I did. I really like the e-mail anti-spam function which is very effective at weeding out the junk. The program is set to start at bootup (by default) and is fairly good on resources.

One thing about the installation is to follow the instructions after the install because to finish the process you must fix the errors, thankfully it gives you clear instructions for doing so.

Very good, but dont forget to set up your antivirus the way you want, because most of antivirus products have defaults settings remember that, just precaution (if u arent advanced user do not setup AV by yourself, ask someone instead) good day:)

Sorry, but although this may give some false comfort to Linux users (especially if they are recent Linux migrants), the blurb on the Comodo website is pure rhetoric. I would be interested to see exactly what out of the huge database this program downloads after installing is directly related to Linux, how it would affect my system, and if doing so requires the user to run as root. :)

If Comodo are seeking to engage Linux users then IMO they would be better off producing a firewall rather than an AV.
