Default Search engine question.

Hi.

I was just wondering, are the the search engines IXquick, startpage and startingpage all the same thing?

Also is scroogle still active? I have not been able to load the page recently.

As told by Panzer, Scroogle is no longer available. Read it here :

About the other search engines, please go through this thread :

Difference between them is explained in some posts.

Been trying qrobe.it - http://qrobe.it/ - just lately. Uses Google and Bing to get results and displays them in a continuous scroll like DDG. It has WOT enabled by default (so java required) and displays the WOT ratings as you mouse over the search results. I've been using it with QupZilla and Maxthon which don't have add-on support and it works great - doesn't block the red sites though, although if you use it with a browser with the WOT add-on installed it does.

Also similar is ahdle - http://ahdle.com/ - which is listed as 'the family friendly search engine.' Works the same as qrobe.it, with WOT enabled by default. Interesting.
