Default The Autocratic Attitude of the Google Megasearch Maniacs

Everybody who knows about Google also knows that this body of junior bean-brains are addicted to putting crap on our browsers that we have no option of deleting. They bask in their autocratic world of "Take it or Leave it" like some Banana Republic Dictator.

Well luckily for us, their are people around who can screw up Google`s dictatorial attitude in many cases, but not always.

I have an add-on that deletes the Google screwball L/H side panel on their search perfectly.

Now, these xxxxxs have placed a blue bar on the search that invites us to SHARE something. It says "Click here to start sharing on Google+" and there is no option of getting rid of this parasitic piece of crap.

Can anybody advise users how to dump this latest brainstorm of the xxxxxic Google juvenile delinquents into the crap bin it deserves to be ?

Oh boy ! How many thousands of users will jump for joy if it works.

If the blue bar is annoying you so much use this address instead https://encrypted.google.com/

If you use Google as your homepage but want rid of the blue bar go into your browser options and set that same address [above] as your homepage.

In FF click 'ok' when you've entered the address and then restart the browser.

In Dragon, Chrome, whatever, enter the address then restart the browser. The blue bar should be gone from the Google page.

If you don't want any Google bars, blue or black, then use these as an alternative;

http://gprime.net/googlex/

http://googlex.jayssite.com/

You get the same Google search results with either.

Hi Deya,
What a superb reply and all the tweaks you state work. I use Firefox.

I have solved it also by using ABP Preferences to hide the blue bar.

You simply click Preferences on ABP, then Add Filter (copy/paste) and enter, then click Apply and OK. Don`t forget to enable all the hide elements. To summarise these elements are :-

google.com###gbx2
google.com###gbx1
google.com###gbpr
##DIV#gbprw <========= This is the one that worked for me using Firefox.

Blue bar gone.

The blue bar does seem to annoy people, and I'll try your method using AdBlock, although I don't use Google as often as I used to do. One thing I did notice though. I use Opera most of the time and the blue bar doesn't show at all. Why that is, I'm not sure. I thought maybe Opera AdBlock could be blocking it but disabling the extension makes no difference, still no blue bar. Strange, but there you have it.

But I have to say it would be better if Google just stopped adding irritating things to their homepage. All it appears to succeed in doing is drive more people away from it.

Deya,

Lovely conversation and thanks.

Google are prone to experiment with all kinds of crap that emerge from their junior playschool pranksters. It has been going on for years and has probably an infinite life span.

I am aware that some of their nightmares are done by a magical formula unknown to anybody else except themselves and are vomited upon only certain sections of the worlds keyboard plonkers. So I am not surprised that you do not have this blue bar infestation on your machine.

There is no logic known to common people like us how these plagues are dispensed by Google. Once they infest us with some new objectionable crap, they just sit back and absorb with great pleasure the agony they have caused and completely ignore any objections made by the common herd.

We are all eternally grateful to the worlds hackers, code breakers, wizz kids, mischievous bums and other boy wonders who take immense pride in blowing many of the Googlisms clean out of the water and help us all to enjoy our Internet escapades in perfect peace.

Another matter OT but interesting and amusing is that I have a Gmail account and use it a lot. Recently the Google Gremlins have inserted a pop-up panel that says "Switch to the new look" every time I log on.

Well, of course, not being born yesterday I completely ignore it, since I have no wish to turn into a frog and my lovely golden coach into a pumpkin with no return ticket.
GOTCHA Google !
