1002richards : Thanks your suggestion. Unfortunately too advanced for me.
Would members please comment : Startpage.com and Startingpage.com. Apparently designed by same company. 1) a. Which is the best ? b) Whats the significant difference / advantage ? 2) Do you need to use an anonymiser in addition to these ? Have read the excellent test report in Gizmo. But would like opinion and personal experience from members using them. 3) What is best anonymiser for browsing and researching on net? There are so many listed. |

1) This page should provide your answer, i.e. they are basically the same. 2) Only you can answer this one, again it depends on what level of anonymity you are trying to achieve. Startpage search anonymises your search, but as I understand it, you would subsequently need to visit the resulting webpages via a proxy (e.g. using the Ixquick link) to continue to maintain a level of anonymity. However, this is still a way off from providing watertight, 100% anonymity. By using any proxy you are naturally relying on them to pass data between you and the website you're accessing without intercepting or recording it in any way. Likewise, your ISP! 3) I do use Startpage but that's usually as far as I go with anonymising so I'll let someone else answer this one. |
