Anybody else having issues getting this thing to install on XP SP3 using the MSI installer?

I tried installing over the top of the last version. Failed.

Uninstalled using the flash uninstaller and cleaned up all flash player and macromedia folders and tried the install again. Failed.

I may try installing using the just the executable.

Sorry, trying to install the plugin based version for FF. Fail. WTF?

I have never used the msi version to install. I always download the exe, and they are clean of any extras. Only thing is that they provide options at the end for flash player to update automatically. The option to manually update can be selected.

I didn't have any problem installing the latest update via exe file.

I have been using the MSI for the last year or so. For me, it has worked better than the exe.

Taurus, I havent upgraded yet but I ll do it tonight in my XP, let you know how it goes.

I always uninstall the old version using their uninstaller, reboot, install new version. Then I disable automatic updating in Task schedule and disable Adobe service.

Flash has not given me any headaches for about a year.

Just now used the msi vesion to install and the only reason that it fails for me, was when I didn't close any plugin based browsers. Closed all browsers and installation went fine.

Thanks for the feed back gentlemen.

I've never had the MSI installer package fail me either, until now. All I can come up with is that maybe the MSI got corrupted in some way either when I was down loading it or through a failed install. I'll try downloading it again and doing an install later today and I'll let you know what happens.

Again, thanks.

Downloaded the latest version of the Flash Play from here:

http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

I unchecked the Free! McAfee Security Scan Plus box and the installer downloaded.
Started the installer and the flash player installed just fine.

I'm fairly sure the MSI installer that I had downloaded earlier had been corrupted in some fashion during download.

Anyway, the latest version of flash is installed and working fine so far.

Again, thanks for all the earlier feedback guys. I do appreciated it.
