Default Opera 11.51

Opera 11.51 has been released, and is available on the official site.

Thanks Anupam. I read about this yesterday and downloaded it first thing today for both Windoze and Linux. I've been concentrating on XP over the past few days so haven't yet configured Opera for Zorin.

In XP my base setup is Ad-Aware with Comodo (firewall only - no D+ or AV). I've set up Opera with TrafficLight, WOT, Opera Adblock and the Virus Total extension. So far this combination is the smoothest experience I've had using Windows and I really like the way Opera is performing.

Yes MC, I too have been impressed with Opera since the release of 11.50. Prior to that release, Opera used to be very slow on my computer, for reason unknown. But, since Opera 11.50, it has been really fast, and I like the overall feel and the look of Opera now.

I intend to use Opera exclusively for sometime, to see how it goes, and if I like it as my new secondary browser. Will share my experience, once I do that .

My intention too. For me TrafficLight is also less troublesome, in fact it's no trouble at all in Opera although it wasn't that way for me with Firefox.

Is anyone here from "the crew" using Opera 11.51 successfully with the site editor in Windows XPSP3? I can't get the article text to display at all despite playing around with the browser settings and extensions.

Hi Anupam-

Has the page rendering improved with the latest version of Opera? That's the main reason I've stayed away from Opera. The page rendering has alwasy been terrible for the sites I frequent.

Thanks,

Hi Taurus, I haven't used Opera extensively yet, but yes, I will say that the page rendering has improved. But, as I said, I haven't used it extensively... so you will have to check out for yourself. I think you will be pleased . Maybe MC has something to say on this, because I feel he has been using Opera more than myself.

Yes IMO the page rendering has improved. I'll just need to look more closely at what might be stopping the site editor from opening because with Linux it's fine.

He won't be able to tell with all that crappy security software he's using. LOL...I mean how can you tell where the problem lays when you're using all of "that" instead of Sandboxie.

JK MC.

Good to know MC....thanks.

True enough, although I like to gain some experiences using Windows as are likely to be encountered by the majority. However good Sandboxie might be, it is still a minority choice for the masses who still prefer to install a firewall and AV. By far the easiest option still though is to use Linux which is where I am most of the time
