Java Console in Firefox 4.0
Does anyone have a method of removing the Java Console from Firefox 4.0 extensions?
I have read that if you run it as an administrator an uninstall option appears, this is for Firefox 3.xx I believe however and I have no such option next to my Java Console extensions. There is only a Disable button, no greyed out uninstall button like the method I have read explains. |
How to manually uninstall a Firefox plugin:
http://superuser.com/questions/11140...in-for-firefox You can delete the dll file instead of renaming it, if you want. |

If it's not the Advanced tab (sorry, directing you from memory), go through all the tabs until you find it and untick the related box. Firefox needs to be closed while you do this. Keep in mind, that it gets back with every Java update, so you'll have to do the routine every time. If you need to remove other Java related stuff, take a look in this thread. |
if you don't use java often or for anything else outside of web browsing, you might consider using portable firefox and portable java. It's what I do and seems to work fine. I managed to remove it by deleting a npj160_1.dll file (well name is from memory but it looks someting like that, the last number will be different depending on version)
you maybe able to find that file in your installed java folder to delete but I'm not sure if it'll mess with other applications using java since I only use java for webbrwosing |
