So for now we are better off with ff4 until any noticable changes are introduced in aurora or nightly builds
and right now the most important change ff needs is to change the logo of ff4
aurora adnd nightly build logos are very attractive indeed

Agree about the logo and, personally, I think Aurora is a better name for a browser than Firefox.

I'd like to have mouse gestures as standard in FF, like they are in other browsers now. None of the mouse gesture add ons work in Aurora yet, but I don't think you should have to install an add on for that anyway. Something like super drag and drop as standard would good as well, although the QuickDrag add on works with Aurora.

Sometimes it's little things like that that make all the difference to me, I'm not a massive fan of add ons so the less I have to install the better. I sometimes wish they'd concentrate more effort into things like that than trying to beat speed records - but then again I suppose it's the competition that sets the bar height, and they're all getting faster.

It would be nice if they would integrate sandboxing into the new FF like you get with Chrome. It doesn't matter so much for those of us that use virtualisation already, but would be good for the average "not so security aware" user i think.

I still like Firefox . And also, the name Arora has already been taken for a browser. Not exactly the same spelling, but almost the same.

http://code.google.com/p/arora/

It is a webkit based browser. It has got good speed, and as a minimal browser, its good, but lacks other features. I had written about it in a thread.

I personally wish that they do not go that way. Because, if they went that way, then like Chrome, Firefox would also have to make each tab an out-of-process, which would mean one process for each tab, and that approach takes more memory. For the same number of tabs open, Chrome takes more memory than Firefox, and this difference can be seen with more amount of tabs open.

I thought that name sounded familiar, Anupam. I've used Arora in the past but, like half the stuff in my head these days, the memory of it had faded. Still like the name though.

Interesting reading people's thoughts on what they would, or wouldn't like to see in upcoming versions. I sometimes have a read through the various browser forums, people's wish lists and what they would like to see in future releases. I sometimes wonder if we're becoming a little too demanding, it must be tough on the developers to stay at the head of the race and at the same time keep users happy.

Like Anupam, I like the name Firefox, hopefully Mozilla wont mess with
that. To me Aurora, reminds me of an.....aunt. Shes lovely but, I would
not enjoy my favorite browser to be named like her.
Like deya, I think Mozilla developers should concentrate on making the
browser more usable instead of thinking that "faster" is the most/only
important aspect that needs to be developed.
Probably, whatever they do, it wont matter to me, Firefox will remain as
my #1 browser.

My understanding is that it's just a channel name before reaching the next full version of Firefox. I don't think the name of the browser will be changed, or will it?

Chrome wasn't changed to Canary now was it?
There's no way Mozilla will drop the well-known Firefox brand into some unknown Aurora. It's too late to change names.

Mozilla won't be changing name of Firefox to something else. Aurora is just a name for the new development channel, which sits between nightly, and beta version.

I fully agree, that usability of a browser, is what which should be looked at first. To me, thats important. Firefox has been my primary browser, because it has been solid, and has never failed me. On other browsers, I have come across some problems or the other on different sites... but not with Firefox. I just hope that Mozilla continue this, and not be blinded by the browser race.
