Hy,

The data you mentioned represent our malware and antiphishing engines. TrafficLight isn't only cloud based, it scans the traffic that reaches your browser.

Zeustl, maybe you can help. Do you know of any reason why TrafficLight won't pick up bad web-sites?

I'm the editor for Internet Safety Checks and I'll be publishing an update by the end of this month, 6 days away. I had hoped to include TrafficLight but not until I can get usable test results from it. I installed TrafficLight a few weeks ago but it caused a few problems so I've uninstalled it awaiting a more stable version.

What has confounded me with is that I didn't get any warnings or blocks from TrafficLight while visiting confirmed malware/phishing sites. Alarm bells would go off for almost every other product I tested. But nothing for TrafficLight. It makes no sense to me.

My test system is Windows XP Pro SP3, 1GB RAM
Browsers used were the latest downloads for XP: IE, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Opera
AV was MSSE or AVG Free

I might test it again soon with no other security products installed on my test system.

Must be something to do with your system. TrafficLight blocked plenty of links when I just tried it on Clean MX. Was using the Firefox version though.

Thanks. It did nothing when any of the five main browsers.

I will install it again and see what happens.

I confirm J_L's findings.

Installed again. It won't run with AVG LinkScanner. It also appears to be having a problem with another AV product.

So I've stripped out all my AV and add-ons and installed the extensions.

I get different results from TrafficLight depending upon which search engine I use. For example,
is the site nkphcoop[dot]com bad? For the extensions, says N for Google (as does Google Safe Browsing) but Y for Bing and Yahoo:
N Firefox Google
Y Firefox Bing
Y Firefox Yahoo
N Chrome Google
Y Chrome Bing
Y Chrome Yahoo
N Safari Google
Y Safari Bing
Y Safari Yahoo

The full version always says it's bad for all three searches in Firefox, IE, Opera.

Not really, but I think it provides better phishing protection. Also they're compatible, so don't be afraid to try.

Remah, did it still block the site for you? It did for me.
What's weird is that I'm getting green results on Google, but red on the other ones. Maybe it has something to do with my other extensions.

The site is only blocked by TL for Firefox beta. Of the 21 sites that TL has blocked for me 8 have only been blocked in Firefox.

I'll uninstall the TL extensions in Firefox, Chrome and Safari and see what full TL does.

[Edit]I've been running with no other extensions installed.

[Edit again]FYI, where the page cannot be found the TL block screen will appear for Firefox and sometimes for Safari but not for IE, Chrome and Opera. [Edit again again]Just had that happen for Chrome.
