Sorry to hear it didn't work, garth.
I'm sure it won't be long before the developer catches up; in the meantime, you could either force compatibility (tweak the install.rdf file) or rely on CCleaner to cleanthe relevant folders. You can also only clean those after the Analysis has finished by right clicking on them. About the bookmarks, you're right about the add bookmark pop-up box, it always behaved badly; I had tamed it a bit through UserChrome.css in Firefox 3.6.x, but in 4.08b it doesn't obey to my rules. Looks like I need to go through the Mozillazine Forums. I don't understand the other thing you said about them: Quote:

The bookmarks menu is on the right side of the toolbar and i've gotten used to accessing this on the left side of the toolbar. I'm about used to it now so that's just me moaning for the sake of it i expect
![]() My FF4 browser hasn't fallen down all day today but i haven't had reason to use FF3. This leads me to wonder how much one browser install can mess with another....? |

These serve me right as I've my own bookmarks folders set out from the left in both FF4 and Chrome 8. The "Bookmarks" (in FF4) or "Other bookmarks" (Chrome 8) on the right are for decoration purpose (to me) and hardly used (by me). ![]() |

I've been using this browser exclusively now since Jan 5'th and i have a couple of niggles, but beyond that i have no complaints. What is currently bugging me the most is it doesn't appear to have an option to reopen recently closed tabs, and now and again i accidentally close the wrong tab: this is a pain when i'm several pages deep into a search for something and then cannot find what i was looking at a moment before. What is cool is the facility to backup, restore and export my bookmarks. I'm finding the tabs grouping facility useful when i remember it's there. BetterPrivacy is still not compatible with FF4 b8 despite the Mozilla download details claiming it is.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...betterprivacy/ This browser has only properly crashed once, and that was when i tried running it on top of Wondershare TimeFreeze. It crashed bigstyle and the only way to shut it down was to "end process". I've just noticed a little dropdown next to the group tabs button that displays currently open tabs: i can see how this would be useful if you have a lot of tabs open. My final verdict is this: 8/10......a good effort but could do better. Time to have a proper look at Chrome now ![]() |

So just by way of a last word before the final version is released, i just tried Google Chrome and didn't like it. One Revo uninstall later and i hated Google Chrome. Sandboxie would no longer open my FF sandboxed despite the contents being deleted. In the end i had to uninstall FF3, FF4 b8 and Sandboxie and reinstall before my browser would open sandboxed again. Couldn't be bothered to reinstall the beta this close to the final release version so it's back to FF3.6.13 for now. Never, ever will Chrome be installed on any of my machines again. Never
