Incidentally, Firefox does still warn you about closing multiple tabs if you use the close button on the toolbar.

WOT have released a beta of their add on that works for links on Twitter, Facebook, and shortened URLS's like bit.ly. You can read about it here - it only works on Firefox for now.

Limited numbers available to download and try here.

I just installed it in FF4 and works fine with Twitter, although I can't try it on Facebook because I don't use it. Could be useful for those that do though, especially for the shortened URL's.

They say that only 1000 preview downloads are available, so who knows, people will just have to try it. But I looked at some FB pages and WOT works fine - same as it works for links on here, which is great. I've tried Finjan [M86] in the past and that worked with Twitter but it was very hit and miss, didn't always load the icons and was often slow. Just out of curiosity I tried to install Finjan again to see if it had improved but it's not compatible with FF4 - only 3.

WOT works very well and I think it's great they've done this because shortened URL's on social network sites can be a nightmare, especially where youngsters are involved.

Just a small request in advance for everyone. When Firefox 4 final comes out, which should be on March 22nd, please start a new thread for it, whoever posts about it first. I will try to be the one though .

sure Anupam.....

@ bo: I think there will be an RC2. Nothing is clear now...Let's hope it the final version gets released on the 22nd.

I'm also getting no warning when I use the "exit" button from the file menu or from the big orange toolbar...

I'll do a clean reinstall and see what happens. I'm not sure if an addon might be causing some kind of weird conflict...

Edit: nope! no success here....even with a clean profile, I opened a couple of tabs...However, when I used the exit option from the big orange button or from the "file" menu option, no warning while closing multiple tabs. I do get a warning with the 3.6 series..problems seem to occur with Firefox 4 RC only..Can't understand this....

I don't think there is going to be an RC2, because there is no time for that. Most of the blogs I read, say that the final version is likely to be exactly the same as RC release.

Regarding Firefox closing without warning when multiple tabs are open, seems to be an annoying thing. Maybe there is something about it, in the options? If not, maybe they forgot this feature?

Maybe one of you can post about this in the Mozilla forum.

I will have to take my words back. Bo was right. There is indeed an RC2 available for Firefox 4. I just saw it on a download site. Maybe it will have fixed the bug of Firefox closing even when multiple tabs are open.
