VideoCacheView bypasses downloading the flash video all together. It allows you to copy the flash video files from the windows temporary folder and your browser's cache.

I have tried almost all flash downloader addons for ff and m not pleased
video cache view is not a good option for me because i need to stream the whole video before downloading which i dont do
i just add files to my download list and download dem later so it aint gonna help me
so back to my favourite download manager - idm
i know its not free but for me its working best

I have been using Video downloadHelper for a long while and it has worked
very well for me. I only use it for downloading flash videos, almost exclusively
from Youtube. You do not need to stream the whole video before downloading
so it might be what you need.

I have tried a couple of the others and this one is perfect for me.

its been a while but i think flashget can tie itself into firefox's save window. so if you save something in it, it gets passed to flashget. I just don't know if you like flashget or if its still free/supported (been like 3-4 years since i used it)

On a YouTube page when a video is streaming, press Ctrl+F7 (or choose FlashGot Media via the FlashGot menu from your browser), your download manager (selected via FlashGot option) should be up for you to confirm download. After downloading, rename the file 'videoplayback' to end with an extension .flv.

Double click to playback the flv file. It works for me.
