Default GMX Mail a miss

A tip of the hat to any site that desires to be as helpful as this one, but the recommendation for GMX mail is a total mislead. If you like slow, sketchy type of software than you will love GMX, otherwise try anything before this dog.

It might be helpful for the benefit of other members if you elaborate on your experiences with GMX a bit more. Apart from my site account I run Gmail and GMX together and have had no problems with either. Maybe this is because I use Thunderbird and don't need to access my accounts directly?

I wanted to open an account on GMX, when we were discussing about it on a thread here. But, I was unable to open an account. Everytime, I would try, it would give me an error saying something like the service was not available now, and to try again later.

Then, on the same thread, someone reported having problem with GMX mail. So, I abandoned the thought then. So, golfingdude might be right about having problems. But yes, we would like to know what problems you faced.

Some people on this forum use GMX and have had a good experience. So, the experience may vary.

I've been using GMX Mail with no issue. Its built-in Mail Collector also collects mails from my GMail, Hotmail and free Yahoo accounts nicely.

Hi,
Though golfingdude does not explain why he considers GMX Mail to be a dog, he's not alone. User comments about.com show that the experience with it has gone down hill lately. There're about 25 comments within the last year and only 7 of them are really positive (half of them giving it a 5 stars rating).
Comments review centre or at Softpedia don't look much better either.

The majority of problems reported are related to registration issues, blocked accounts, slow speeds and bad/ lack of support.

Could very much be true, since most issues seem to be related to using the web interface.
