thanx in anticipation,

Hi George, Elizabeth is hoping to give me someone to keep an eye on me generally, but in answere to your question, any comments at all would be welcome, like what to watch out for as a "green" moderator, or even if anyone uses a particular program and they could comment about it etc. I am hoping my shoulders will be broad enough to cope with, whatever is thrown at me.
Or someone might know of a good source of an existing review that I could read for background knowledge, etc, etc.

best regards,

revboy.

Hello there danjmilos, I'll give it a go viz:

"An internet accelerator takes a computer's internet connection beyond its default settings, squeezing every last drop of performance available, delivering maximum responsive surfing."

Will 23 words do ?

best regards,

revboy.

Couldn't have said it better myself cause I tend to get a bit wordy and run on and on and on etc, etc, etc. {lol}

Hello

Are we talking about applications such as Firetune, which is no longer available for download. Or addons from firefox listed here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...d=5&sort=&lup=

And then there are many so called internet accelerators fond in various all-in-one windows tune-up applications.

And of course there is GWA that was reviewed here on this site:http://www.techsupportalert.com/best...ccelerator.htm (no longer available as well)

I have found very little improvement using these types of programs, but that's just my experience.

However download accelerators seem to improve download rates.

Cheers
Wdhpr

Google used to offer a web accelerator that I used for a while. I probably still have the program file saved on my external hard drive. I believe that the program can still be found someplace on the web.
