Chrome Extensions

Chrome extensions are now made available to the Chrome pre-beta release 4.0.220.1.

Some sample extensions are here. More extensions probably will be developed, posing a challenge to FF lovers

This is the one I tried on RSS Subscription Extension. A RSS button is added to the URL of a TSA page. :)

Extensions were essential ,but missing feature in Google Chrome .Though I started loving Chrome , I wonder how they do the numbering in the versions :) . Reached version 4 in very few months and leaping ahead of many competitors .Anyway It seems that its pretty simple with XML and CSS to make a chrome extension . I will try mine !!

I'll not use Chrome until it has an adblocker. Plus I not too keen on its privacy issues.

You can use Iron with Adsweep, FlashBlock (User script), and AdBlock+ (manual removal only, no automatic subscription blocklists).
There's also incognito mode and you can configure cookie settings.

Extensions: One Step Closer to the Finish Line

Chrome has announched that its extensions are one step closer to the finish line and developers now can upload their extensions to the gallery.

While the official one hasn't been available yet, the unofficial gallery is booming. You can install the extensions if you're using the dev build version of Chrome 4.0.

AdBlock+ is the top downloads in the gallery as you can see.

I'm looking for "Copy Link Text" extension. Can't find it. Who can write one?

For those who're using Chrome 4.0, this extension is quite useful: Click&Clean.

With this extension, clearing cookies is easy, just press Alt-C and done. In particular, when I come this forum, if not logged in, I press "Alt-C" and "Log in", that's it.

Otherwise, I would have to go thru these steps:
  1. Click Wrench
  2. Select Options
  3. Click "Clear browsing data"
  4. Click "Clear browsing data" again after ticking "Delete cookies"
  5. Click "Close"
Or
  1. Press Ctrl-Shift-Delete to bring up a "Clear browsing data" window.
  2. Click "Clear browsing data"

Well, this extension saves me these hassles. It also has Cache Viewer, Task Manager, and so on. :)

The extensions I'm using are -

1. WOT
2. LastPass
3. Xmarks Bookmarks Sync (though Chrome has inbuilt bookmarks sync with a Google Account).
4. SmoothScroll

Any else that are recommended?
