I wouldn't trust any extension outside of the main site, much like Firefox add-ons.
Wonder why Chrome has so many external extension sites, even beating the official site in a Google search.

The extension called PlainClothes allows the user to specify colours for text and background that will override those of the document. I came across it at this great forum here along with another that claims to allow one to specify text and background colours and block ads from downloading!

I'm using the first for specifying colours and Privoxy for blocking ads from being downloaded. That's why I haven't tried the second extension (which seems more suited to the technically competent user).

(Both extensions are on the official site.)

I wonder if this Greasemonkey script, Secure Connections on Sites (http: / / userscripts . org / scripts / show / 29090), will be the Chrome equivalent of the Firefox extension mentioned by Ritho here.

Default oGet for Chrome

This is a really good news for Chrome, and Chrome-based users.

There is now an extension available for Chrome, called oGet, which is similar to FlashGot for Firefox. oGet integrates external download managers with Chrome. The list of download managers that it supports is quite long, and impressive. This extension should solve the problem of integrating download managers with Chrome.

This was a requirement that I thought lagged in Chrome. But, its now available, and its great .

The extension can be found here. Presently, it works on only the Windows version of Chrome.

Thanks Anupam, I tried oGet for Chrome and it works with certain downloads, but doesn't seem to work with the download from cnet, in which flashgot for FF works well. Or have I missed out something?

I have installed oGet but haven't tried it yet. So, I will have a look later, and get back. Meanwhile, you can check the options of oGet, because it works a little differently I think. Must be some problem there.

You are right Jojo, oGet is not able to catch downloads from CNet . I will try with different sites later on, and see how it goes. I think the product still needs some polishing. Maybe, I will send a mail to the developer about this.

That will help, and this is a good find for Chrome users.
