I don't have much idea, or rather any idea, about hosting of freewares. But, I can just suggest that you may contact freeware/software hosting sites like FreewareFiles, MajorGeeks, CNet, and ask them about the procedure to let them host your software on their site, and also maybe review it. If you want to make the software open source, you can also contact Sourceforge.net, which host many freeware/open source softwares.
Or, you can also ask software developers who have developed small individual softwares, and their softwares are doing good... like Pazera, or Dirk Paehl, and other such small utility developers. Maybe they will help you, and provide you with some ideas, as to how to proceed. I again say that I do not have any knowledge in this regards... but these are the suggestions, that I think may work. There may be other guys, who will come up with better ideas.

Try get on Donationcoder http://www.donationcoder.com/Forums/bb/index.php They are software freaks, paid or free. Will hook you up with a domain if necessary I believe. You do need a website even if only promoting 1 program.
They know most freeware and payware so introduce yourself and see what happens... Good test I think. If some of those with many post start to hover above the floor you are on to something ![]() |
