Default Looking for a Browser with these features...

Can handle a lot of tabs and not get laggy ..100 plus tabs

Tabs on the side left or right

Secure

Vivaldi get laggy..slow with a lot of tabs..

Verdict on Kinza?

Firefox has an extension called Tree Tab redux that has a flat tree that works well but with the latest Hacking going on I'm a little nervous about using Firefox

Any recommendations would be appreciated!

Regarding your question about Kinza, I've used it in the past and it's a good browser. It does have a side bar, if I remember correctly, although I never used it. I had it installed for a while, never had a problem with it but would have no idea how it performs with 100 tabs open because I never have that many open at once.

It's one of those Chromium browsers that take up quite a bit of disc space, almost a gigabyte if that's an issue to you. There's a forum, although it's mostly Japanese but you could use a translator to have a read through if necessary. Kinza is worth a try.

One of the lighter browsers I've used in recent times is Cent but can't recall a side bar, and also the developers are very slow in updating the browser so not ideal really. It always ran very light on my machine though, so maybe 100 tabs wouldn't trouble it too much, although I couldn't be sure.

Maybe SlimJet? ... haven't used it in a very long time but have read that it's a capable, quick and light browser.

danielson might know of extensions that suite your needs as regards the tabs.

I have been using Slimjet for over a year now and it is brilliant. However, last few months, almost every time it starts it reports that it was shut down incorrectly and offers to report the error and to start again - although it had shut down fine. Reading the forums, this is a known problem for many (but not all) users but nobody knows how to fix it. So, changed to the new Edge which is brilliant in almost every way but, despite years of complaints, does not automatically switch focus to a new tab when opened. Microsoft has completely ignored all these complaints so am switching back to Slimjet.

I think that any browser will get laggy with 100 tabs or so. Depends on the configuration of the system too. Maybe with a powerful CPU and good amount of RAM, it won't be that laggy.

I use Brave and it's very good, have it installed on my phone as well. Never run into any problems with either, Windows or Android. You can opt out of the ad stuff so that's not a problem and it runs light enough although again, whether it handles 100 plus tabs at the same time is not something I can answer I'm afraid. Definitely worth a shot though.

Came across this extension in the Chrome store;

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/d...dkfiicjkgofkdh

... so gave it a try. Several options on the initial set-up - side bar on left/right, dark or light theme etc. Once installed you can configure it more via the settings anyway. It works well.

Just out of interest I installed it on both Brave and the new MS Edge, then opened 50 tabs, the same sites in each. Out of the two browsers, Edge handled the 50 tabs better, not using as much resources as Brave. Slightly surprised me to be honest.

Can't try it any other browser because they're the only two I use now, apart from Edge Canary but didn't install it on that. The side bar doesn't work on the new tab page in either browser, only showing once you open another site but it does work well.

Might be worth a try, CASD.

Nothing to worry about.

Security vulnerabilities are discovered regularly in all browsers or OS, and fixes/patches are released for those. Sometimes, critical vulnerabilities are discovered which need to be fixed immediately, and that's why sometimes it's said to update the software immediately, to be on the safe side.

So, it's nothing to be worried about. Keep your software and OS updated and you are good. Also observe regular safe practices.

Mozilla are generally very quick to release security fixes for Firefox when discovered.

Been trying browsers...........
They are all resource hogs when you have over 100 tabs.....
Microsoft Edge and Firefox are the worst...
If they aren't too bad on resources like Slimjet and Kinza ..they have some other limitations..

The link before took me to a Bookmark vertical panel...it looked nice and stable but..it was for bookmarks,, not tabs
I'm open to it if I could figure out how to bookmark all my tabs in a click or two...
I don't need all the tabs active at the moment just be available when the urge hits me

As an author..I do a lot of research..learning..study..so thats a lot of my tabs

Still looking... because of the flexibility if I can conquer the multi-tab problem I'll probably go back to Vivaldi
