If you go into edge://flags/ you can enable 'Force Dark Mode for Web Contents' and get the same effect the Dark Reader extension gives you. Also when you click the drop down menu to enable it you'll notice there are six other inversion settings so you can set your preference. Select the Dark Theme in settings for the full browser effect. You don't always need extensions/add-ons, sometimes the browser has the capability to do more than people realise, with a bit of tweaking.
Also worth noting from the link that Panzer posted about the Dark Reader extension; "The developer says similar attacks taken place and affected Chrome, Edge, and Firefox users" ... Edge Stable updated to Version 81.0.416.77; https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dep...1041677-may-18 |

Edge updated to Version 83.0.478.37;
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dep...3047837-may-21 .... quite a large changelog for v83, also the introduction of progressive rollouts; https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dep...essive-rollout "Starting with Microsoft Edge 83 release, we will perform gradual rollouts of major updates to Microsoft Edge Stable channel over the span of a few days. This progressive rollout allows us to monitor upgrades and safely update the browser across the organisation" .... So if you're using Edge you may not get the update straight away but will do in the coming days. If you don't want to wait you can download and run the offline installer at the bottom of this article; https://www.neowin.net/news/microsof...line-installer It works, I've tried it. Just be sure to download the 32 or 64 bit version, depending on your needs. While the new Chromium Edge does have some of those features, that article (as I see it) is referring to the old, legacy Edge. It looks to me like an old piece that's been recently edited. The images are definitely old Edge.
