Default Thunderbird, Outlook can't import GMail messages

Have tried all day long (even on a Linux distro) and Thunderbird and Outlook cannot access or retrieve GMail messages.

Log into your Gmail account. Go to the settings page. Then, find the "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" tab.

Make sure that you have enabled POP and IMAP. While there, there is also a link for "configuring your email client" and that link includes both Thunderbird and Outlook.

Hope that helps.

Here in Brazil at least there was a considerable delay with Gmail messages yesterday. We even accused our health plan provider of not sending us a promised email and got them to resend it to my GMX address but low and behold the original one arrived in Gmail online and also Thunderbird later in the day so I have no doubt this was sent when Unimed says it was.

Might be totally unrelated to your experience but thought I would mention it anyway.

Oddly enough, about 15 min. after posting here, everything worked just as before.

AI reading our posts?

Google must be having some issues.
Everything was just fine and dandy yesterday.
Back to square one today.

All things considered, their service has been impeccable.
Can't remember last time it went down.
