Default Yahoo Messenger to be discontinued

Yahoo Messenger is going to be discontinued and will stop working on July 17th, 2018.

It will be quite an end of an era. I used to use Yahoo Messenger quite a lot to connect with my friends, and also used the Yahoo chatrooms back in the day, until they were infested by bots, and were discontinued. The messenger still continued to work great, and I found its audio and video calls quite excellent too.

Sadly, as smartphones came, messengers like these were used less and less. Yahoo also made changes to Yahoo Messenger in the recent past, and those changes weren't good at all, which I think further led to its less usage. They killed the messenger with those changes. And now ultimately, it is going to be discontinued.

The way Yahoo is going, we may see its email service discontinued at some point too.

The way Yahoo is going, it's heading for the history books.
