Default Waterfox 55 + (a browser on the roll!)

There's much good news for bereaved Firefox fans.
Just check out with what's been brewing at the Waterfox browser farm on their Reddit page or follow them on their Twitter accounts for now.

There's so much going on there, and for the first time since Firefox Australis, i've found some "emotional" joy at hearing and seeing with my eyes what is not only being planned but actually enfolding.

@CASD - don't know which version you are using or on what OS you are testing, but Waterfox has always been (afaik) quite decent on Windows.

Speed is no longer the issue and i'm sure Anupam will agree with this.

No. It's a question of regaining user confidence in devs who actually listen to them and of giving extension devs assurance that their work is not done in vain which in turn, will encourage users to support them.

Firefox has never been just a speed browser.
In fact, it has always been in many ways, just the opposite.
What made it big was security and tweakability.
Something that it has been losing since Australis and that it no longer seems interested in recuperating or keeping.

Just look at this (privacy or)
security issue that was recently ignored by Mozilla but will not be accepted by Waterfox.

I've been using Vivaldi and pretty happy with it.. but I would really like to get back to FireFox type browser...
I just moved over to "V" when Cyberfox made their announcement..

I'm with you on that CASD.

Deep down, i find myself with a kind of gut feeling that tells me that Firefox will hit a rock bottom and stay there. Core users have been deceived too much and have taken off to "safer" grounds.

Australis was a huge shaking.
Couple with other "political" issues at the time left many disgruntled.
Some managed to go on (thanks to legacy addons) but now, with these being thrown out the window without a plan b... it's too much.

Sure, electro might be superduper faster than ever.
It kind of reminds me of Maxthon Nitro.
A fast bird with no wings to fly.

Can Waterfox pick up enough momentum to bring the ship back afloat?
Time will tell.
