Default Which Firefox addon are u going to miss most?

With electrolysis now in the works, I will sadly miss some really decent addons:

-Beyond Australis
-Babylon
-Tab Mix Plus

-FT DeepDark

If anyone has viable alternatives to these, would greatly appreciate your input!

I dont use many addons, the ones I use now are basically the same I was using years ago, they all still work just fine. I havent had to stop using any because it doesn't work anymore with Firefox.

Danielson, you could use Classic theme restorer instead of Beyond Australis. By using it, my Firefox looks and functions pretty much as it did years ago. You look at my Firefox, you don't see anything related to Australis.

By the way, you can disable Multi process if you want. I disable it for no other reason but to prevent a potential conflict with Sandboxie. There has been none for moths but do it for just in case.

You could replace what you did with Baylon by simply right clicking the word and searching with Google. I do that sometimes and would prefer doing that than using an addon for searching a word.

The addons I am using are NoScript, Classic theme restorer, Download YouTuve videos as MP4, and UblockO. They work pretty good with Firefox with or without Multi process. I can also attest Adblock plus is working pretty good with the Firefox sandbox. Thats what I used for many years but switched a few months ago to UBO when ABP was experiencing an issue, nothing to do with Multiprocess but I switched and will stay with UBO as all is well. I use UBO identically to how I used ABP. I also use something called Save from Net Helper, works fine but I don't install it in my system, I keep a sandboxed installation where I install that addon and Flash, and use this sandbox when I need to use those two addons.

The addon for a theme, that should be easy to replace. There are hundreds of them.

Despite all the changes and stuff they done, I wouldn't switch Firefox for nothing. To me, is still the best browser and doubt I ll change it or look for something else as long as its around and I can use NoScript. Thats really the only addon I got to have and cant like without. And till now all seems well and appears it will be also in the future.

@bo.elam

Sure, the theme issue is not the end of the world, but when its been your preferred for the last 5 years, it's like an old car, you want to keep it!

Classic Theme Restorer is cool, but i don't see config options to autohide url and bookmark toolbars.

Even "Classic Theme Restorer" is a legacy addon which will likely no longer be supported.

Time to switch to OpenSuse which uses ESR?

Here's a list of the add-ons I currently have installed in Firefox 54.0.1 :-

Add to Search Bar 2.9
Classic Theme Restorer 1.6.8.1
Context Search 0.6.4
Download YouTube Videos as MP4 1.8.10
Duplicate in Tab Context Menu 3.0.1
Flashblock 1.5.20
LastPass: Free Password Manager 4.1.54
Menu Wizard 5.08
Nuke Anything Enhanced 1.1.1-signed.1-signed
Open in IE 1.5.0.1-signed
Screengrab (fix version) 0.99.11
Self-Destructing Cookies 0.4.12
Session Manager 0.8.1.13
Simple Mail 2.91
Speed Dial 0.9.6.18
uBlock Origin 1.13.8
Undo Close Tab Replacement 11

Some I use daily, some occasionally, and some rarely.
I'll be interested to see which ones remain functional as Firefox evolves.... and at what point I begin to miss any of them.

Well, here's my list of add-ons I won't go without:

adblock plus
Back IS Close
Beyond Australis
Flashgot
LinkExtend
No Sleep Download (although I'm not sure it works anymore anyway)
Remove It Permanently (perfect for bypassing anti-adblock
Session History Tree
Session Manager
Tab Groups
Tab Mix Plus
ThinkVantage Password Manager
Video DownloadHelper

I haven't checked them all, but I assume that most of them won't work. I'll have to see what I'm going to do... because I'm not going without these add-ons.

You are right. Classic theme restorer will be dead come Firefox 57. Thats horrendous.

I like a lot of the things I do with CTR but the one that I would not want to miss is being able to open bookmarks as a sidebar, like old browsers. I could get used to tabs on top, etc, but not without the sidebar.

Last year when my XP was dying I switched to Palemoon in that computer. It was pretty good. Of all the Firefox look alike, PM is the only one that I could switch to and fit right in. I am going to try it to have a safety escape valve ready. I am going to check PM later on in a sandbox, give me the link to the theme you like, I ll see if it works in PM. Probably does. In XP I made PM look and function pretty much as my Firefox without having to do much. I think I didn't even have to install CTR.
