Try using one of the PortableApps.com versions of FF alongside WF, it should use its own self-contained Profile.

In the end if I can't get the two browsers operating independently without tweaks, I'll look for other alternatives to Cyberfox.

All FF-based browsers except Pale Moon and recent WF versions would have the same problem.

Cyberfox was not affected by Waterfox and vice versa.

That's because the recent versions of WF have moved away from the FF standard and uses a different Profile, just like Pale Moon has done for many years.

Yeah, I did read about that somewhere.
What I'll do is wait for a while to see if Cyberfox get a new lease in life. If not I'll ditch FF for WF
