Worrying for me being an Opera user
![]() One of the main reasons I originally switched to Opera (when it first became ad free) was that I believed it was good regarding security - goes to show how things can change ![]() |

They do say in their conclusion though that Opera was a "solid third" and that this result was mainly due to a poor second part test.
It's also worth mentioning too that much of the "threats" seen here can be eliminated by using OpenDNS or the Comodo service. Link Extend and WOT would also play a part as avoidable user choice for sites visited is still the main cause of infection or data loss.

Yes, overall Opera didn't come out as well as maybe the makers would like us to believe but as human interaction still plays such a big part in this I don't think that Opera fans should be in a major panic to switch to Firefox.
I was impressed with the methodology of the testing which was far more comprehensive than the usual rubbish published in places like PC Mag etc.

Yep, it won't put me off using Opera as my main browser, especially being a long time user and also hooked on the email client. As you say, safe surfing practices are the key and also many things like javascript, flash, iframes etc. can be controlled/blocked with a little configuration.
