"Spring is just around the corner, so is Vivaldi 1.0. While we are waiting for it, we thought we would share the latest update with you.

Since the Beta 2, our primary focus for this release has been on improving performance and stability, as well as polishing the design throughout Vivaldi UI. This includes adding a lot of new settings as always, and we have also added a few new features

It smells like Spring for sure!
Homepage option inoperative.
Have posted on their blog about it.

You're quick on the gun McDraw! :)

Could not upgrade manually on this one.

Quick to uninstall it maybe :) .... no auto update, extension crashes, browser crashes, sluggish all round. Probably the worst version I've tried but never mind, it's beta software so it can't all be plain sailing - and looking at comments on their blog, I'm not the only one. Previous version was a bit sketchy for me as well.

I'll wait and see what happens. I'm sure they'll sort it out. Browser's virtually unusable for me at the moment though.

Different strokes for different folks!

Other than having to do manual update, this version is doing just fine for me.

It works ok for you? ... weird. I thought at first it maybe was a Win10 problem but looking at their blog comments it appears not, with people having problems on various OS's. Random. Anyway, I've reverted back to the previous snapshot - 1.0.418.3.

Could hardly to get it to load. When I did it was crashing all over the place and things were sluggish, scrolling etc. Managed to disable the few extensions I had but no joy there. So I uninstalled the lot and started again. At least you can export bookmarks to HTML now, which I prefer, so you don't lose everything and it's quick set it up again.

They put a comment on the blog;

We deactivated auto-update so you can install the previous version and shouldn't be prompted to install the latest version.

... so, with luck, not too many people will have suffered my - Yikes!! - moment :)

Vivaldi dev. team must be trying too hard at getting that official version out before Easter.
They shouldn't get over worried. After all, there only vying for a first place in a 2% cut of the web browsers right?

Personally, although Opera is far from being what it used to be, it is nevertheless very fast and has two Android versions to sync with.

Maybe pushing it too hard to get the final out, but other speculation is that it could be something to do with them upgrading it to the latest Chromium, 49.0.2623.91. Possibility I suppose, but I'm sure whatever it is they'll soon have it sorted.

See what the next build brings ..... less hassle, I hope :)
