The way Mozilla describes it, "add-ons" is a collective term that encompasses extensions, appearance and plugins. In that context, I think when you say add-on you really mean extension.

Hmm, seems like they have clubbed it all under add-ons. For me, add-ons means extensions in general. Oh well.

for me it makes no difference

it's like do I want an engine or transmission in my car more? I can't drive without either...

and I won't use firefox without both plugins AND extensions... so just saying add-ons is synonymous

plus firefox/mozilla DOES include them all under the "ADD-ONS" menu... theme/plugins/extensions/services... so calling any of them addons would be fitting

even by your terms, the plugins do add extra functionality... flash adds flash features to firefox

The last two updates - 42 to 43 and 43 to 43.0.1 haven't worked automaticaly for me.

Anyone else found this? Inside Firefox via the Help menu, 42 told me that it's up to date, even though 43 was released. Ditto the latest update.

I got the notice for both Firefox 43.0, and 43.0.1, but since I manually update via setup, I always ignore them.

Sometimes, it may take a bit of time before the notice comes up, or before it is available for update internally.
