Default Firefox 3.5.2 Crashing

After two days here with next to no connectivity I finally get back onto the web and find my new version Firefox continually crashing

There is a brief advisory about NoScript not being installed correctly before the whole window vanishes. Re-installing everything doesn't give a solution. I've sent a crash report to Mozilla but in the meantime have reverted back to 3.5.1 and everything is fine.

Anyone else having the same issue?

I have had some crashes with 3.5.1 and 3.5.2 both. But, only rarely.

You can run Firefox in safe mode, if you want to find out why its happening. You can disable the add-ons, and enable them one at a time, to see which one is causing trouble. Maybe its crashing because of some other issue, I can't say.

For me, its working without a problem... just had one crash, dunno the reason though.

It's funny because I never had a single issue with 3.5.1 which I'm using again now. I'll keep an eye on the Mozilla site, especially to see if NoScript gets a revision, and then try again with the latest version.

I have 3.5.2 and am running noscript, WOT, adblock plus, betterprivacy, and keyscrambler and haven't had any issues. I'll post back if anything changes

The cause of crash is mostly because of an add-on, though it may be something else, I don't know much. Maybe you should give it a try again. Uninstall Firefox, delete the folders in Documents and settings, and then reinstall again. If it crashes, try to diagnose in Firefox Safe Mode.

I am also using NoScript, and its working well.

I'm running 3.5.2 with WOT, NoScript, and a bunch of other stuff without a problem.

Here's one approach you could try:

1. Remove NoScript from version 3.5.1, restart Firefox, exit Firefox and then restart your machine.

2. Upgrade to 3.5.2, either automatically via Firefox, or by downloading and installing the software yourself (I tend to do the latter.)

3. Try out 3.5.2 to see if you still have problems.

4. Assuming you don't, then download and install the latest version of NoScript, mines 1.9.7.9, and then see how you get on.

Obviously, if you still hit problems at step 3 then NoScript isn't the culprit.

If you hit problems with version 1.9.7.9 of Noscript under version 3.5.2 it could suggest a conflict with another add-on. Might be worth posting a list of the ones you use to see if anyone has a flash of inspiration?

Anyway, worth a try.

Rik

Thanks guys for the advice - I'll have a look at what I can do.

As I only installed the whole system again two days ago there's only a few add-ons included as yet. I have NoScript, CSLite RefControl and "Dark Revisited" skin - that's it!

This isnt about firefox crashing, but I seem to have problems surfing the internet with firefox 3.5.2. Every time I open more than one tab there's a chance that the browser just stops loading sites...its not my router coz IE and opera works perfectly fine and other comps connected are unaffected too. I like firefox for all its addons and stuff but the latest release has pushed me back to opera and ie.

For those of you who may be having issues with the new version of Firefox and you think it might be related to one of your extensions, you might want to consider joining the Firefox Extensions group found at:

http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/FirefoxExtensions/

I've found a lot of useful information there. Most likely you can also find a group specific to any particular (popular) Firefox extension as well.

Having reverted back to 3.5.1 this crashed on me this morning too. I'm sure they will work it out but in the meantime I'm back with Opera as well.
