Don't know what happened.
Things are working this a.m. Kind of, at least i can install extensions from Google's site. Had downloaded and unzipped uBlocko but browser can't find (see) it so i'll be happy with the one from Googles' site for now. |

Yes, I installed uBlocko from the Chrome Store so you should be ok.
Have a read of the comments on the blog page for the update; https://vivaldi.net/en-US/blogs/team...s-of-bug-fixes Looks like there have been problems for some users with the update, problem with the install folders - portable installs. Maybe something like that affected you? |

Vivaldi Snapshot 1.0.161.2 released;
https://vivaldi.net/en-US/blogs/team...more-bugfixing Installed via the auto updater without problems. Interesting to note that they make reference to the job losses at Opera in Oslo and elsewhere this week. Changing times. https://opvard.wordpress.com/2015/04/21/goodbye-opera/ |

Sad day for Opera employees in Oslo...
Testing installation of extensions on this Vivaldi 1.0.161.2; so far so good (WOT, Diigo and uBlock Origin) all installed just fine. Don't know why Diigo doesn't show up on top "panel" bar. Still no go on getting the browser to startup with default page yet. Did post on Vivaldi forum a while back (work in progress). Hope it won't take as long as it took Opera (Chrome) to get a bookmark manager... |

Sad day indeed. Cheaper to operate in Poland than Norway I suppose. Economics.
User Interface doesn't support extensions yet, don't know what Diigo is but that's probably why nothing shows up for it. Work in progress ![]() Have to say that this release is one of the better ones of late for me. Browser is much snappier. |

Vivaldi Technical Preview 3 is released;
https://vivaldi.net/en-US/blogs/team...27-tp3-is-here Didn't get it through auto update. Downloaded it from their main site page, which also has a new look; https://vivaldi.com Installed over the top and everything works fine. No problems. |

Bump again - sorry. But regarding TP3.
In answer to a question about auto update on their blog, one the development team replied, "Snapshots wont auto-update to Technical Previews, they are on a different auto-update lane" .... So if you do have Vivaldi installed and want to install this latest version you'll have to download it manually from their main site - linked to in my previous post. TP3 is very stable though, and much improved since TP2. Performance is better, new features work well but there are still things missing - extension UI icons etc. But you have to bear in mind it's still not even at Beta stage yet. I think they've made very good progress in the time since Vivaldi first appeared on the scene. The Vivaldi team seems to have grown in number since the first builds, and perhaps more will be recruited now after the recent developments at Opera. Personally speaking, I hope that's the case because talent like that shouldn't go to waste. But that's just my opinion, obviously. Interesting to watch it develop from the ground up, makes you appreciate free software and the toil and dedication that goes into creating it. |
