This blog post may be of interest to anyone using Vivaldi.

10 lifehacks for the Vivaldi browser;

Do you know of an easy way to autohide url box (addressbar)?

One feature i've come to appreciate in Vivaldi is the fact that searching in url box also shows related materials from bookmarks and visited websites. Cool!

Also appreciate "nickname" feature for bookmarks which helps me to depend less on bookmarks toolbar.

Last, but not least, fan enthusiasm is constant, even the not so polite "posters" are welcome.
(not something you notice much of elsewhere).

I've had a look through their forum, danielson. There are threads about customising the UI, auto hiding toolbars. But it involves using scripts so I don't know if you want to try that. Also, there are requests from users asking for the option to auto hide the address bar so maybe it's on the developers to-do list for future builds.

The threads are here if you want to take a look through them;

I quite like the latest build of Vivaldi, especially being able to create custom themes. I've been able to get the speed dial looking better, for me at least. I'd prefer it if you could get logo tiles like you can with Opera, or Yandex Tableau, instead of the screen grab type that Vivaldi displays but I don't think it's possible at the moment - or maybe I missed something.

I stopped using Vivaldi for a while but I'm using it a bit more frequently now. When you've had it running a while, memory use creeps up and it does tend to be heavier in that department than other browsers at the moment. But I'm using the developer builds so maybe the stable version isn't so bad. Dunno.

Think you've got a point there on usage issues.

Also think i'll just wait for autohide feature to be incorporated.

Like you, have been testing Vivaldi more than before. ;)

Memory use could be caused by extensions but whatever the reason it does creep up quite high at times. Think you might be right to wait for the address bar auto hide, messing around with scripts and stuff usually ends up breaking something else.

To be honest it's not something I notice too much, the address bar, because I have the background and accent colours set to white, foreground and highlight set to black. I don't see borders like you do with other colours, especially bright ones, just the URL. That way everything looks cleaner, to me. Personal preference, looking at too many gaudy colours does my head in :)

Having a glitch here... it's keeping previous theme instead of created one.
If we could make the V symbol disappear of change it too, that would be nice.
Never cared for that logo style. Even re-sizing it would be better (imo).

update: had to disable "accent" color.

Are you clicking the save button once you've created or altered the theme? It won't keep it otherwise.

Yes, it would be good to be able to re-size the tiles, you can add curved edges to them, and the tabs, when you create or edit a theme. The screen grab style tiles are ok but, to me, they can look a bit messy, especially if you don't use an ad blocker because then the ads show in the saved tile. You mention the V symbol, and in the speed dial tiles, that's the one that shows for the Vivaldi site when you install the browser - the Vivaldi logo. That's what I'm on about, I prefer those to the site screen grabs. It's just personal choice.
