I'm going to stick with the portable version for now. (I still have Firefox installed, but am not using the installed version.)

As a quick test, Maxthon opens to my home page (Yahoo) in about 4-5 seconds. Firefox portable takes 1-2 seconds longer. Installed Firefox takes at least 20 seconds or longer to open to my home page.

(This is on a I7 laptop running Windows 7 64-bit with 4 GB of RAM.)

I switched from Firefox to Comodo Ice Dragon for my primary browser.

The Mega Browsers may have a change in ranking if the others continue to develop and improve like they did this year.

I'd agree with Anupam, if your installed version of FF is slow then it's most probably down to add ons ... a freshly installed and clean version is very fast.
