Firefox 19 is out and it has a built-in PDF viewer

Besides, the built-in pdf viewer, the release notes also says of improved startup performance. Full release notes here :

Thinking of whether to install over the top, or have a fresh install, since the last time I did an update from inside the browser, it installed the maintenance service. Maybe will go for a fresh install.

Updated from inside the browser and everything appears to be working fine including the in-built pdf viewer....Guessing that if you update normally, things should be okay...

I installed over Firefox 18.02 with no problems. I only have a few extensions and they all work

no problems here with using it portably

just the pdf addition wasn't much of one :S I feel like I had it back in firefox 18 already lol. that or somehow I added it in myself which I do sometimes with other plugins

edit: the pdf viewer was this addon https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/pdfjs/ that or it's carrying over for me lol

The pdf.js was already available, but needed to be enabled via about:config.

Anyways, I'm awaiting the update on Linux Mint.

Upgrading from within worked great as usual. I disabled the new PDF and set it up PDFs to open out of the browser which is how I prefer to view PDFs. I didn't have to go in about:config, I did it by navigating to Tools>Options>Applications and choosing "Always ask" in the choices on how to handle PDF files.

Oh well, I get beaten nowadays because I keep waiting for the release to appear on Mozilla site officially, and nowadays, they are being random with that. Next time, I will just post the thread, when the download is available on the download sites
