Pale Moon covers the 64-bit area quite well. I'm not trying to promote Pale Moon, but I've been running the 64-bit version for a couple of weeks now and all the add ons that I normally used with Firefox work quite well with Pale Moon on a Win 7 64-bit OS. And I've had no issues using the 64-bit version of Pale Moon with the 64-bit version of Sandboxie.

it didn't autoupdate for me, said the firefox is up to date?

edit: tried manually updating it, and it broke tab mix plus addon ... i used to think firefox was so friendly, i guess after ff3, it went into it's teenage rebellious stage? there is a dev build for it, i just find it funny how each time i update now, i lose an addon

edit: by chance, any of you know of an addon to block html5 videos like flashblock does for flash? yeah, im asking for another addon (I'm closing in on 30 addons so far hehe)

sidenote: hm 30 addons, anup you asked if i noticed a speed improvement over ff3? maybe this is why I didn't notice it?

by the way, comodo icedragon looks pretty good for ff16

I read about the 64-bit news, and was about to post it here, and had thought that Taurus might have to say something about that . Well, glad you found an alternative Taurus .

eyeb, 30 add-ons... man, that's bound to have some impact on the speed and performance . I merely use 5 or 6 .

If you have tab mix plus, I read that it's causing Firefox 17 to break... add-ons window does not open, or gives trouble because of that add-on. So, you may need to disable it for a while.

And I think with this version, Firefox has implemented the click to play feature. Don't know if it applies to html5 videos or not. Give it a try.

I got a dev build of tab mix that seems to work with ff17, no problems with it yet

i asked about the html5 because when i updated, the new features tab opened on start and the video auto played, im not used to things just playing

edit: by chance, what addons do you guys use? I tried running with fewer addons and I just cant stand the way firefox behaves "naturally". I guess you guys don't tweak the about:config settings much either?

Erm, the video didn't auto-play for me, or maybe I didnt notice, or maybe closed the tab quite quickly.

Just checked, and it seems the click to play feature is still accessible via about:config, and is by default turned off. To enable it, you need to toggle the plugins.click_to_play setting.

I use AdBlock Plus, FEBE, FlashGot, WOT, Xmarks, Greasemonkey. That's it. And yes, I don't tweak about:config too... just the one to keep the tabs intact on quitting the browser.

Anyone else having this problem? Ever since I updated to Firefox 17 (and I had installed it fresh, after uninstalling Firefox 16)... I open a page, and then whenever I return to that tab, the images on that page load up again with a bit of delay.

I updated yesterday through the update channel and after the add-on check finished FF opened. I then opened 'options' and FF crashed. I use Adblock Plus, WOT, Better Privacy, Download them all, Personas (5). I have Java and Skype disabled. I rebooted and opened FF, then opened a website and while there FF crashed again, so I downloaded FF 17.0 from the Mozilla webpage and reinstalled it. The add-ons did their check and FF came up. I have had no problems since. I am growing wary of that update channel.

My BBF had a problem also. FF crashed on her system also. She has BufferZone Pro and FF has to be upgraded outside BZ. She forgot to empty BZ totally before and after the install. I had to reinstall the update for her. She only has one add-on, ADP. BZ suits her needs even though FF & BZ together are a royal pain. She says it has not crashed again since yesterday.
