Default Need software to recover lost music files

Can any reader suggest a method or software to recover music files
lost from Media Player.

My H.D. partition carrying music was running out of space.
Applied software to increase partition size and lost about 300 music files.

The track names are in ' Music ' and 'Playlists' but can't bring up the actual music.

Try some of the software mentioned in this review article Best Free Data Recovery and File Un-delete Utility might be of help.

Thanks Jojoyee: Did as suggested. Downloaded MiniTool to My Docs Downloads.

Set Up Warning -
Are you sure you want to continue ?
Caution: Never install the software on the drive that contains lost data.
This may cause disc overwrite and permanent data loss.

Do I have to download on another computer then to CD and then run on the computer with lost files ?

Ideally yes. Don't use the drive with the music on it for anything. You can put the recovery programme on a USB drive or a CD. I have used Recuva successfully as well as one other who's name escapes me. Be sure to "recover" the files to another drive as you might not have room on the drive they're on PLUS you might find you're not happy with the programme you choose first and want to try another.

Hi members.

I downloaded and ran Recuva on same HD that has the lost files before the comment from miskairal. Program found some files but indicated most were overwritten. A disaster.

Thanks for all the comments folks.
