Default GPS mapping tools

Nowadays many people have a small GPS device (typically Garmin) of phone to navigate and track. I use it e.g. for cycling - both to follow a track and to log a track.

I have looked around and the amount of free tools that I found is limited:
SportTracks
MyTourbook
TCX Converter
GPS Trackmaker
GPSBabel
Mkgmap
QLandkarteGT
I wondered if you know more useful PC based tools that help make/edita track and/or help analyze a route. Garmin has their Mapsource & Trainingcenter programs, they work well but fairly basic.

I know there are also several useful web tools such as www.gpsies.com and www.runsaturday.com.
