It's been a while since I used this Microsoft product, but I was hoping that Thunderbird or similar clients might sync with MS Exchange 2013, but does anything? I guess Google/Gmail dropped support for it? Ideally would also like the calendar to sync with my personal calendars on gmail and therefore on my phone....
So email client with calendar and contacts support that syncs with Android phone and gmail calenders?? |

It's been a while since I've looked but you probably still have to use a paid product to get that complete functionality.
Google Apps still has Exchange support but you have to pay for it. I had another look for non-Google products and I only found paid products. So your two best free options are likely to be Android and Outlook.com.

If you are asking about Android, you might want to see if OWA Web Mail might meet your needs. It doesn't really sync with Exchange, but you can check Exhange email with it.
A more complicated Android solution might be TouchDown HD. It is used in conjunction with AirWatch (AirWatch Agent). However, I believe that this solution requires an IT department to set it up.
