Default Mp4 subtitles

Hello,

i was wondering if anyone know of a program that add subtitles to mp4 without encoding. I already have one for .AVI..and i love it ..see AVIAddXSubs...quick fast and simple...but dont find anythig for .MP4

I've used Handbrake to add subtitles to MP4 videos but I think it re-encodes the video. I don't think you can do it without re-encoding. IMHO, Handbrake is you best bet if you are concerned about preserving video quality.

Try YAMB or My MP4Box GUI, it muxes the subtitle text stream with the audio/video streams without re-encoding.

I tried to mux a raw mp4 video sample with a subtitle .srt file downloaded from this page and the resulting mp4 played back on VLC player with the subtitle displayed nicely.

OK guys..THX for all the answers...and if u deal with .avi the prog i mentioned in my 1st email is fantastic...fast, portable and super easy to use...

Jojo..THX for the answer....

i already tried Mp4BOX-Gui....but i did not succeed in adding subs..UHM! I think i gave it a real quick test...maybe i should revisit it

Do you know if it's stealth? By stealth I mean it does not leave any registry entries of files on your system once you have finished using it and close the program. Registry entries created by Windows itself, or files in the official temp folders of the OS are not included in this definition.

Well Jojo..i tried again

Added the mp4
Added the srt

and clicked "MUX"...it's quite fast and produce another mp4...neverthless no subs at all.

Pls note that i already renamed the srt file accordingly to the Mp4 cause many prog require this....

Is there anything special to do?
