Default Hardware manufacturer's software for Disk Imaging

On your page 'Best Free Drive Cloning Software' it says,

"Some hard drive manufacturers offer free software utilities to owners of their products to aid them in such tasks as diagnostics, disk management, and installing new hard drives. Of those tools made available a couple of manufacturers are offering free disk imaging software for users of their drives to use as long as they own the drive"

Other than Seagate and Western Digital, which you mention there, Does Hitachi offer such facilities? The HD of my laptop is Hitachi.

Thank you,

Can see a drive fitness test software on this page:

http://www.hgst.com/support/downloads

But no disk imaging software being offered for free. Don't think that Hitachi offers those, unless someone else knows otherwise.

Anyways, the free software work just as well. I have tried Macrium Reflect free, Paragon Backup & Recovery, and Aomei Backupper free. All work well, and are easy to use.

Thank you for the above link and other information.

I started this thread after reading Gizmo page 'Best Free Drive Cloning Software'.
Here is the link to the page.

http://www.techsupportalert.com/best...g-software.htm

I have also attached a screen shot here, of the relevant section, which is about one third of the way down the page, at the end of the description of software.

I checked and found that Seagate and Western Digital both offer, free instant downloads of software for disk imaging, recovery, formatting and many other functions with comprehensive instructions and other support.

Kind regards,

You did not had to attach the screenshot . Already know about that.

Yes, both Seagate and WD do offer extensive software and support, but does not seem like that with Hitachi. Since you have a Hitachi disk, you can write to their support, and ask them if they offer an imaging software free. Cannot be seen on their site.

I found some useful information for Hitachi HDD users. Hitachi has transfered their HDD business to Western Digital in 2012. Here is the link to the web page:
