Default Hide a desktop icon temporarily?

I'm on Win8.1. A friend over on Donationcoder's forums suggested I ask here for what I need.

Here's the use case: right-click any icon (or group of icons) on my Desktop, and click 'Hide until...', and then choose a date & time. Until then, the icon(s) would disappear and only reappear at the chosen date & time.

I want this because every icon on my Desktop is a task to be done in my eyes, and as long as it's there, I need to do it. But I'd like to hide it until I have time to deal with it.

Anyone know a tool or registry hack that does this?

[Commercial reference removed]

Thanks

Jacob

Try the free program Iconoid. One of it's numerous features is to hide or show all the desktop icons with 1 click. I have not tried the program but according to the website it 'should' work with Windows 8.
Here is a review by Gizmo's Freeware.

Although the review is for 64-bit programs, it's available in 32-bit and 64-bit.

Thanks @EldonW. Ideally, I'd like something that allows me to hide individual icons, but this is not only the next best thing, it's the best thing I've seen so far.
