It's possible that your issue is discussed here Kenith - http://www.techsupportalert.com/free...-smoothly.html - depending on what exactly you mean by problems with 1080 videos.

sicknero,

Checked the link you provided.

More specific both of us have video files that are very slow and laggy but JImish SHah's problem is with avi files while mine is with a mov file.

My mov problem file was shot with a Canon D5II. Did some checking and these 1920 x 1080 files use H.264 http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canoneos5dmarkii/2

In your link saw George's request "I'd like to know what's your system config, and type of O.S. Do you have an external video card and what's the specifications of your internal one? Later on we'll see what config works best on your system by changing the refresh rates, filter settings and deinterlacing."

Do you know if he has posted anything yet concerning video renderer recommendations for various hardware/software combinations?

Thanks again for your help!

Ken

Thanks again for all the tips!!!

Sorry, didn't spot this post earlier ...

No, I meant that some of the skins don't have frame forwards/backwards buttons and some don't have buttons that respond differently to left/right click. Keyboard shortcuts work whatever skin you use.

Just what's in the thread that I posted the link to as far as I know. I'm sure he'll be back soon anyway and can help you better than I can.

Meanwhile what fixed it for me was enabling Hardware Acceleration, even though my own hardware is pretty low-spec by current standards. (Preferences - Filter Control - Built-in Codec/DXVA settings, and tick the "Use DXVA" box.)

I don't know if that would help you too but it might be worth a go, you can always switch it off again. It's better I think to stop any video playback when changing these settings ... mine tends to hang my PC if I try to change rendering settings while a vid is playing.

sicknero said "Pot Player is pretty easy to use. It has a large settings dialog so it can take a while to work out what it's all for but it's worth the effort if you like a media player with a lot of functions. If you right-click over the main program, the menu that appears will take you straight to a lot of the most useful items as well as let you know what the default keyboard shortcuts are."

Agree!!!

Problem: Still have not found keyboard shortcuts for Frame Forward and Back. Are there any?

Using a Mouse have not had any problem with Frame Back but have been unable to use Frame Forward so I must be doing something wrong.

Would be nice if there was a man or user guide. Am guessing there should be something in Korean.

Thanks again for your help!!!

The defaults are d = back and f = forward but you can change them in prefs if you want. If you right-click Pot Player and then find "Playback" and "Jump (to)" in the context menu, the controls and hotkeys are all listed.

You need to right-click the frame-jump button to go forward. Left click = frame back, right click = frame forward. It isn't immediately intuitive I know.

Possibly, I've been using it ages and am still learning all its functions : )

It's just a matter of explore and experiment, you won't break anything and there's a reset option in the Prefs dialogue.
