You have to share on Twitter to get the download. I don't think many people will like to go for that option, including myself.

I went there and was given the option to share on Facebook.
I did share. In order to download, you then have to create an account at hitfilm.
I filled in the form to create account and got message "Could not communicate with server" and ended up not being able to download.

Is this for real or a scam?

The server is facing huge requests because of the offer. Many people have got the same error now from what I've read across various websites.

It's not a scam, the offer has been featured on several websites including CNET.

The offer also includes a $100 image editor.

Thanks George

After seeing your post, I went back and it did go through.

However, after installing I got the message that my video card does not support the minimum requirements of this application.

For those looking to get this:

OpenGL must be version 2.0 or higher
OpenGLSL must be version 1.2 or higher
The monitor must be running in True Color (32 bit)

Oh well

Thanks for the info anyways.

I don't think those requirements are too high mr6n8.

Do you have an external video card and what version is your Intel Graphics?

That is the message I got when I tried to open the program after install.

I have already deleted everything and really do not want to bother any further. I would have to go through the process at their site all over again and not too likely that I would use this much.

I appreciate you getting back though.

Steve
