Hello all,

link is this:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

I am using OpenOffice myself, not any version of Office.

Contents inside .odt documents could not be searched in preinstalled Win 7 Windows Search (even if you adapted the default extension settings in Windows Indexing options to 'content as well as filenames' for the OpenDocument formats like .odt)

With this add-on pack to Windows Search, it does now find content of these files.

And yes working on Win 7 64bit. There are even 2 specific downloads possible, a 32 and a 64 bit version,

brgds

Update:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

Filter Pack 2010, 32bit and 64bit

Enables CONTENT search within OpenDocument format (created via OpenOffice or MS Office apps): .odt (text docs), .ods (spreadsheets)

Avoid MS desktop search and use a real tool, plus it's safer and free.

It is a proven winner.

I don't agree with your statement, especially with Windows 7. I find the Windows desktop search within Windows 7 to be one of the best. As I've indicated earlier, if you are looking for a desktop search tool, then check out the following link:

I noted the following in my review:

Quote:
Please be advised, according to http://googledesktop.blogspot.com/, "As of September 14, 2011 Google Desktop will no longer be available for download, and existing installations will not be updated to include new features or fixes." I do not know if you can still find the installation file elsewhere on the internet.
You might be able to find the download if you look around, but on the other hand, why would you want to use a program that is discontinued?
